Tonight was a great night. Right before sundown I encountered coyotes. Right after sundown I heard Al-Azif. This is only a few bugs, but soon there will be more. CLICK HERE TO HEAR AL-AZIF!
No, they're not crickets. They are cicadas.
I recorded the sound with a digital camera. I parked in the road for a few seconds and placed the camera on the roof of my jeep (you can hear that at the beginning).
