Today's Reptile
Before I knocked a third of its tail off and I got a glimpse of his stubby legs, I thought I was catching a snake.

Like my tweet said, on closer inspection I found this lizard is female. She was actually willing to let me hold her and stayed on the ground in front of me for a minute or so before running off into the tall grass at the bottom of a hill near my house. She should have plenty to eat there.
